Contractual
Engagement of Project Personnel for Project “Population Management of Species
involved in Human Wildlife Conflicts”
The
Wildlife Institute of India, an autonomous institution of the Ministry of
Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, plans
to engage project personnel for various positions on a contractual basis,
initially for one year period from the date of appointment that can be
extendable up to 3-5 years depending on the candidates performance and the
project requirement.
Project-
“Population Management of Species
involved in Human Wildlife Conflicts” is a MoEFCC sponsored project that
aims to develop appropriate mechanisms for population control of select wild
animal species that are in conflict with humans. The project will be
implemented in two phases that would involve developing and implementing a
range of strategies including immuno contraception for managing wild animal
populations. The work description, essential qualifications, age, monthly
emoluments plus admissible allowances for the required positions are given in
Annexure 1. The upper age limits as mentioned below may be relaxed for SC/ST
and OBC candidates as per the rules of Government of India. The SC, ST
candidates are required to pay only communication charges and they are exempt
from exam fees.
Age Relaxation:
Relaxation
in upper age limit shall be allowed in accordance with the Government of India,
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel
& Training) OM No.1501282/2010-Estt.(D) dated 27.03.2012 as amended from
time to time. However, the categories of upper age relaxations are as follows:
(a)
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes up to 5 years.
(b)
Other Backward Class (OBC) up to 3 years.
Recruitment process:
The
Project Personnel (Indian Nationals) for the project will be recruited through
an online test followed by a personal interview. The online test for these
positions will be conducted at 6 centres namely (i) Dehradun (ii) Mumbai, (iii)
Bangalore, (iv) Chennai, (v) Kolkata, (vi)Delhi/NCR.
The
address of the centre(s) will be communicated to candidates through their Admit
Card.
Written Examination
and Interview:
(i)
The entrusted online agency will issue “Admit Card” to eligible candidates
which can be downloaded from weblink provided. The admit card will have details
of Examination Centre, Date and Time of online test, likely to be held at 1000
hrs on 30 June, 2018 at 6 centres wherein applicants will appear in the written
test. Applicants will make their own arrangement for travel and accommodation
for appearing in online test.
(ii)
For Project Scientist and Project Fellows Positions: The written examination
will be of one hour 30 minutes duration that will include:
a)
20 multiple choice questions on ‘General Ecology and Conservation Biology’ (20
Marks)
b)
30 multiple choice questions specific to the subject, two different sets one
for Veterinary Science/ Physiology/ Immunology/ Endocrinology and other for
Ecology (30 Marks) will be available
c)
There will be a negative marking
d)
One essay of 200 words on the given topic related to Wildlife Conservation (20
Marks)
(iii)
Candidates can apply for only one position i.e. either Veterinary Science/
Physiology/ Immunology/ Endocrinology OR Ecology. All candidates will also
write an essay of 200 words in 30 minutes duration as given in section ii.d.
(iv)
Online written examination will be conducted at respective centers on 30 June,
2018 at 1000 hrs.
(v)
The result of the written test for advertised position shall be declared at the
Institute’s website www.wii.gov.in on 5th July, 2018. The shortlisted
candidates will be called for a personal interview at the Wildlife Institute of
India, Dehradun. The interviews are likely to be held on 16 July 2018, the
specific date of which would be notified to the shortlisted candidates and also
hosted on the Institute’s website. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the
written test or the interview
How to Apply
The
entire process for registration and written test is “Online”. Details for
online registration and test will be hosted on the WII’s website
(http://www.wii.gov.in/) under recruitment section. The online registration
process will open on 6 June, 2018 and close on 20 June, 2018 which will be the
last date of receipt of application.

(ii)
All eligible interested candidates are advised to follow the latest updates on
the WII’s website (http://www.wii.gov.in/) under recruitment section for online
registration, submission of application and payment of application processing
fee, downloading of admit card etc.
(iii)
Candidates will be required to fill in their personal, educational and
professional experience profiles online besides uploading a recent passport
size photograph. Candidates will make the payment of application processing fee
of Rs. 800/- (Rupees Eight hundred only) through the prescribed “Payment
Gateway”. Candidates belonging to SC, ST category need to pay only Rs 100/- as
communication fees.
(iv)
The original documents will be produced for verification at the time of
interview of shortlisted candidates.
(v)
Candidates must mention the Project Position applied for in their applications.
(vi)
Candidates can apply only for one position.
Terms of
disqualification:
Applications received after the due date, without the application fee,
incomplete, or not in prescribed format are liable to be rejected. Mere
fulfillment of the minimum advertised qualification and experience requirement
DOES NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be called for written test /
interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters relating to
eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application, mode of selection will be
final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be
entertained from any individual or his / her agency. At the time of the
verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been
made by the applicant to willfully conceal, misrepresent facts or canvass in
any form, his / her candidature will not be considered and he / she will be
disqualified. Candidates are required to furnish the declaration form as given
in the prescribed application format.
