Different PhD / Master Fellowships Program 2016 -Pathology, Bioengineering, Chemistry or Chemical Biology
PhD Program 2016 Admission @ National Institute of Pathology -
The Indian Registry of Pathology (IRP) was established in 1965 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in New Delhi, India as a Centre for collection and distribution of teaching material in pathology. The Registry was renamed in 1980 as the National Institute of Pathology (IOP) in view of its expanded scope and activities. As per the need of the post-independence era when a large number of new medical colleges were coming up, IRP took up the initiative with the original aims and objectives of collection, classification, duplication and distribution of a representative spectrum of histopathological teaching material to several medical colleges, institutions, individual pathologists and clinicians.
About the PhD Program: National Institute Of Pathology, ICMR, New Delhi invites applications from bright young individuals from diverse backgrounds with strong motivation and good academic credentials to pursue research in frontier areas of modern biology leading to a Ph.D. degree. The broad interdisciplinary research areas are cancer biology, infectious diseases, environmental toxicity, adult stem Cell Biology, metabolic syndrome. The institute is affiliated to Symbiosis International University, Pune, BITS Pilani, Jamia Hamdard, Delhi for the award of Ph.D. degree.
Eligibility: Masters’ degree (M.Sc./M.Tech.) with 60% (or equivalent in CGPA) in any branch of Life Science and holding fellowship such as CSIR-UGC (JRF)/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE (fellowship certificate should be valid at the time of admission).
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years, relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/physically handicapped persons as well as woman candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
Last Date to Apply: 15.02.2016

Postdoc position Chemistry or Chemical Biology (synthetic organic/organometallic chemistry), UK
Full Time/Fixed Term Postdoc position is available in synthetic organic/organometallic chemistry at the Durham University.
This project brings together 3 teams of scientists with complementary expertise to develop new materials to be evaluated as single molecule conductors, specifically to explore the conduction of the molecules when coupled to plasmons within metal nanoparticles. This will pave the way towards and optically/plasmonically gated single molecule junction with potential impact in molecular electronics.
Key Responsibilities / Requirements: The post-holder will have specific responsibility for the following areas of research:
a) the synthesis, characterisation and application of well-defined series of organic or organometallic complexes.
b) The spectroscopic characterisation of materials using optical and electrochemical techniques.
Qualifications / Requirements:
> PhD in a relevant area of Chemistry or Chemical Biology.
> Experience in areas relevant to the posts is required ( synthesis and characterization of new materials and the use of physicochemical methods to interrogate their properties)
> Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in the University.
Applicants must include a cover letter explaining why they are interested in the position and how they meet the person specification.
