BIOINFORMATICS INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME (BIITP) 2015-16

On behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) is coordinating a scheme of practical industrial training for B.Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Tech./ Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics and BINC qualified students. The students are placed for training in Bioinformatics & Biotechnology companies willing to impart practical training to these candidates. The training is for a period of six months during which every trainee is paid a stipend of Rs. 10000/- per month. The company is also paid a bench fee to cover expenses towards training. This programme is mutually beneficial to the students and companies as it provides industrial exposure to the students and an opportunity for industry to select prospective manpower. This programme is advantageous for the companies as it gives them an opportunity to assess the performance of the trainees and subject to availability, suitable trainees could be considered for placement.

Bioinformatics and Biotechnology Industry: Biotech/Bioinformatics companies interested to provide hands on industrial training to the students of Bioinformatics under BIITP may apply online. The companies would have no obligation towards any payments to trainees. The companies would be paid bench fee to cover expenses towards training. Bioinformatics Students: Bioinformatics students intested in six months training in biotech/bioinformatics companies may apply online. Stipend of Rs 10000/- per month will be paid to candidates placed for training. The candidates will be selected for training through an interview

Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc/M.Tech /Advanced Post Graduate Diploma (minimum 1 year) in Bioinformatics form Indian recognized Universities completed in the year 2014 or 2015 with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Application Procedure:

The online application form is available at www.bcil.nic.in/biitp2015-16/index.asp. The following documents are to be sent to Mr.Manoj Gupta, Manager, Biotech Consortium India Limited, 5th Floor, Anuvrat Bhawan, 210, Deen Dayal Upadhayay Marg, New Delhi-110002

A demand draft of Rs 250/- in favour of “Biotech Consortium India Limited” payable at New Delhi towards non-refundable application fee. Please write your application ID, name, date of birth and mobile no on the reverse side of the demand draft

Hard copy of the system generated acknowledgement and application form submitted online

Self-attested photocopies of marks sheets/certificates of graduation/post graduation also need to be attached. For students appearing in the final examination in 2015, filled and signed certificate from Head of Department on the college/university letter headin the format available on our website

Key Dates: 

• April 14: Online applications portal open
• May 19: Last date of receipt of online applications
• May 22: Last date of receipt of documents
• June 10: List of candidates shortlisted for interview will be displayed on website
• June end-July 1st week: Interviews for selection of candidates
• September: Tentative time of commencement of training
